Right now we have one vacancy for the following position:
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) professional/technician to work from home part-time (flexible hours)
We are looking for a surveyor, cadastral, geodesy, geomatics or geospatial professional/technician or an architect, or a graduate from a related discipline with experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and/or geographic interpretation to work part-time from home as an independent contractor.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
1. Ideally at least 1 year of proven experience, although, recent graduates are also welcomed.
2. Proven knowledge / experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and/or Geomatics systems (Mapinfo, ArGIS, QGis, ERDAS, Global Mapper or similar).
3. Track record on the interpretation of urban development plans/policies.
4. Good level of understanding of urban/architectural drawings.
5. Intermediate english level proficiency.
6. Advanced knowledge in computer tools (Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Spreadsheets, Microsoft Access, Skype, Gmail, Dropbox, Power Point, internet).
7. Ability to create and continuously update work Standard Operating Procedure Manuals to make his/her work more efficient.
8. Capacity to achieve high levels of concentration and having the ability to work without direct supervision focused on achieving Key Performance Indicators.
DETAILS OF THE TASKS REQUIRED:
The tasks required will allow flexible working hours as long as clear objectives and daily goals are met.
The requirement involves:
- The identification and analysis of potential plots of land (sometimes with existing buildings) using online Geographic Information Systems to identify their potential for construction / expansion under applicable local planning policy and by comparison with recent planning applications nearby.
- Perform a comparable current house/apartments value analysis within an area of influence and produce hgh level development cost estimates to assess the feasibility of potential residential developments schemes using spreadsheets.
- Extraction and analysis of information from different GIS and online databases that contain information in English (therefore the importance of language proficiency) and inclusion of relevant information in our internal databases / digital documents for processing and continuous monitoring.
IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT THE REQUIREMENTS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST:
- Have a dedicated work space at home, where uninterrupted work can be achieved and conference video calls can be attended without disruptions.
- Have your own computer with enough hard disk space (preferably with over 100GB of free space) and ideally with two or more monitors (to facilitate the the interpretation of maps and databases simultaneously).
- Have a high speed internet connection, as well as, a microphone and a camera connected to your computer to conduct video conferencing.
- Be available for one or two hours a day before 9:00am Colombian time to conduct skype/screen sharing sessions with the rest of the team in England.
REMUNERATION:
£ 300 Sterling Pounds per month (Equivalent to $ 1,200,000 Colombian Pesos per month).
WHEN MUST START:
Candidates must be able to start 1st May 2019, or earlier if possible.
DURATION:
6 months, including 1 month training and 1 month trial period with the possibility to extend it.

Competencies:
Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and databases, GIS, Google maps and word processing documents. Keep records of all sites assessed, produce detailed reports of all activities to track KPIs.
